What is the Code of Conduct?

The Code of Conduct under the Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011 sets out minimum standards of practice for property factors in Scotland. It aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective communication between property factors and homeowners. The Code covers :

  • Clear communication and consultation with homeowners
  • Providing a written statement of services
  • Handling of complaints and disputes
  • Financial transparency, including billing and invoicing
  • Maintenance and repair responsibilities
  • Insurance
