As a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Alexander is our Company Secretary / Financial Director. He has many years of invaluable Financial experience gained in both public and private sector organisations.

Alexander is a keen golfer, enjoys swimming, 5-A-Side football and socialising.
ALLAN C. DUNN

Senior Administrator – Property Management

Joined Ross & Liddell 1999
Allan is responsible for the smooth running of the Administration Department. His shipbuilding apprenticeship was served at Yarrows and he worked as a Structural Planning Engineer before running his own drainage company. He has a Certificate in Critical Path Analysis Planning from the International Correspondence School, and a Certificate in Effective Speaking & Human Relations from a Dale Carnegie course.

Allan loves to play football, and enjoys golfing and fishing.

Andrew obtained a BSc in Land Economics from the University of Paisley in May 1995 and joined Ross & Liddell, as a Graduate Commercial Surveyor, in the same year. Following his qualification as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, in November 1997, his career led him to pastures new, where he gained extensive experience in all property sectors and disciplines, while working for City Site Estates, Optical Express and Charles Price & Co, before setting up his own property consultancy business in 2003.

Andrew rejoined Ross & Liddell in June 2006 and will expand the Commercial Management, Agency, Rent Review and Investment services offered by the firm.

Andrew relaxes by playing golf, reading and training his two dogs. 

BILL FAIRLIE

Senior Administrator – Property Management

Joined Ross & Liddell 1984
Bill has worked in the property management business for over 25 years and is now a senior member of staff within the Administration Department.

He is a film buff and also enjoys D.I.Y. and golf.
BRIAN W. FULTON

Director

Paisley Management Department

Joined Ross & Liddell 1988

Brian has over 28 years experience in property management. He is a fellow of the faculty of Building, a member of the institute of Residential Property management and a member of the Property Managers Association Scotland

Brian is currently a Director of the Grocers Society, Paisley and a past Director of the Merchant & Trades Society of Paisley.

Brian enjoys Sailing, Golf & classic Cars

CAROLINE CLARK

Manager, Furnished Lets Department

Caroline has worked in residential lettings for 7 years and has gained experience in both the sales and management sides of the business having worked for a small family run firm and a large national company.

Caroline enjoys spending time with her three horses with which she regularly competes and socialising with friends.
She enjoys socialising, cycling, swimming and travel.

ELIZABETH McCANN

Supervisor Credit Control

Elizabeth originally joined the firm in her teens and left a few years later to further her career with the Glasgow Herald. She has over 18 years experience in credit control and the financial legal system, attending Strathclyde University and taking courses in civil court and paralegal works relating to debt recovery.

She enjoys socialising, cycling, swimming and travel.
GAIL BOYLE

SUPERVISOR INSURANCE DEPT

Prior to joining Ross & Liddell Gail worked for 15 years as Team Leader for Royal Sun Alliance. This involved underwriting for Household and Private Motor risks working with Brokers and Customers in the Scotland & N E England area.

Her hobbies are keep fit, going to the cinema and travelling abroad.

Gerry is a Chartered Building Surveyor with 25 years experience in the profession, 20 in private practice. He heads our Building Surveying department involved in the repair, maintenance or alteration of all types of buildings; project management; legislative audits; construction monitoring; schedules; feasibility studies and more.

Gerry likes hill walking, skiing and sailing.
IRENE C. DEVENNY

Managing Director

Irene’s service with Ross & Liddell is in excess of 30 years, during which time she has held a number of appointments in property management, before being appointed an Associate of the company in 1987.   Irene was appointed to the Board in 1994 as a Director of Property Management and, in August, 2005, a restructure of the Board resulted in her becoming Managing Director.  

During her service with Ross & Liddell, Irene has gained considerable expertise and experience in the management of all types of residential property, from tenements to luxury new builds.  She also has a thorough background in  the administration of property management, backed uo and by courses on building construction, property law, and associated subjects. 

Irene’s overall responsibility is to ensure that the strategy, as set by the Board, is adhered to, and that the objectives and targets, as set out in the company’s business plan, are met.   Therefore, Irene is involved in a diverse range of business issues, while retaining responsibility for property management.

Irene’s leisure time is spent fishing, swimming, walking, travel and arts and crafts.

ISABELLE DOYLE

Manager, Business development

Joined Ross & Liddell 1988

Isabelle was Head of the Estate Agency and Insurance Departments of Winning & Fulton until its amalgamation with Ross & Liddell in 1988.

She continued with Estate Agency and also took over management of a growing Residential Letting Department which has continued to expand.

Isabelle enjoys classical music, attending concerts, the theatre and visiting places of historical interest.

J. JACK FULTON
 

Director New Business & Residential Letting Departments

 

Joined Ross & Liddell 1988.

 

Jack trained as a Surveyor and joined the family firm of Winning & Fulton in 1971. After working as a General Practice Surveyor he took over responsibility for the management side of the business.  The firm amalgamated with Ross & Liddell in 1988 where he assumed the position of MD of the subsidiary company. In 1991 he took over the roll of New Business Director for the whole company

As well as responsibility for the residential letting arm. He was appointed to the Board of The Property Managers Association in 1990. In 2002 was elected Vice President and thereafter elected President of the Association in 2004. He is very much involved in the promotion of the educational side of property management.

A fellow of the Institute of Residential Property Managers he has served as a Governor of the Institute for the last 4 years.

Jack gave up competitive water skiing some years ago – too old – too fat, and took up competitive sailing.

JOHN BROLLY

Director – Property Management

Joined Ross & Liddell 1975

John started in property management in 1970 with Miller Macrae & Stewart before joining Ross & Liddell as a Property Manager, progressing to Associate and then Director in 1994. John has experience and expert knowledge of regulated rent procedures, and is also responsible for the operation of the Paisley Office, and the setting up and expansion of our new Edinburgh operations. Other duties include responsibility for credit control and health and safety matters.

John enjoys rugby, the cinema, gardening, and keeping fit (gym).

JOHN H. HARRIS, C.A.

Chairman

Joined Ross & Liddell 1978

Qualified in 1968 as a C.A. with Nelson Gilmour Scott & Co. and, after gaining further experience with Price Waterhouse, John held two further financial positions before joining Ross & Liddell. He was appointed Financial Director and Company Secretary in 1979 and Managing Director in 1995.

He has been involved in the changing face of the firm, including transformation from a partnership to company, a management buy-out, amalgamation with Winning & Fulton, and the introduction of sophisticated computer and management techniques, resulting in a company which employs 75 staff operating out of Glasgow, Paisley and Edinburgh, serving clients in the central belt of Scotland and beyond.

At the end of August, 2005, John decided that, after more than a decade in the role of Managing Director, he would take a step back from overseeing the day-to-day running of the company.   He was immediately appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors. 

John enjoys gardening, walking his dogs and, of course, Ross & Liddell.

 

KEITH. R. BAGNALL

Director – Insurance & Information technology  Departments

Joined Ross & Liddell 1973

 Keith initially studied to become an accountant in England  but subsequently switched into estate agency administration and the management of residential properties in  Sussex. Relocating to Scotland, and joining Ross & Liddell  in 1973 as a property manager, he was appointed a Director in 1979.

Keith is now responsible for the Insurance and Credit Control  departments within Ross & Liddell and is also  responsible for the computer& information technology systems.

Interests include history, astronomy, country walking, computers, football and gardening. 

 

MICHAEL J. STANYON

Associate – Commercial Department

Joined Ross & Liddell 1975

Michael has over 27 years experience in all areas of property management, and is currently responsible for commercial and industrial management matters and the supervision of Commercial Property Managers and ancillary staff. He has attended courses at the Factors Association in 1974 on basic building construction and property law.

Michael is an avid reader, and enjoys cooking, gardening and foreign travel.
STEPHEN B. BELL

Associate – Residential Management

Joined Ross & Liddell 1981
Stephen has over 32 years experience in the property management field in both the private and public sectors, and has attended courses on building construction and property law. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Housing Management.

Stephen enjoys football, art and is known to enjoy crosswords.

NIC MAYALL

 

Office Manager – Edinburgh

 Nic has almost 16 years experience in the property industry having worked previously in estate agency, lettings and relocation at senior management level.  

Nic is a keen rugby player and has played (in his youth!) for Midlands and Edinburgh Districts. He also enjoys listening to music and has recently taken up running and hopes to complete his first half marathon next year.

TRACEY MOFFAT

Manager – Finance Department

Joined Ross & Liddell 1987

Tracey was involved with the merging of the Computer and Cash Departments into the Finance Department. She has over 15 years experience with the company and is currently responsible for a staff of 4.

Tracey likes to spend time with family and friends, and enjoys swimming and keep fit.
